Description
The NU-X Optima Air is a programmable digital acoustic guitar simulator built for electric players. Plug in your electric guitar and morph it into any of 15 internal acoustic guitar models, switching between them as you play. An Impulse Response (IR) loader lets you capture the tone profile of your own acoustic guitar and store it as a model you can play from your electric, so the sounds you rely on stay with you on stage or in the studio.
Sampling runs at 24-bit, 48-kHz for clean, detailed audio. To shape the acoustic tone, the Optima Air includes a foot-switchable studio-quality preamp with 3-band EQ and a digital reverb section for adding ambience. You get 9 preset slots to save your settings, plus IR level control across the built-in profiles. A micro USB port doubles as an audio streaming interface, working as a recording device and giving you remote editing through free software for PC or Mac.
Connections cover a lot of ground. There's a standard 6.3mm guitar jack in and out, a balanced XLR D.I. output (called a direct box output in some regions), a send/return effects loop, a 3.5mm headphone output and a 3.5mm aux line input. The unit measures 115 x 105 x 58mm and weighs 420g. It runs on a 9Vdc, 500mA negative centre power adaptor, which isn't supplied, so you'll want to add one to your order if you don't already have a suitable unit.
