Description

The NU-X NTU-3 Flow Tune is a mini core style pedal tuner for guitar and bass. It has a large HD colour display that shows your tuning status clearly, so you can read it from a standing position on stage or across a busy room. The pink housing is compact but rugged, built to sit on a pedalboard and take the knocks that come with regular gigging.

You get three output modes to suit how you play. True-bypass (TB) keeps your signal clean when the tuner is off, while buffered mode (BF) mutes the output during tuning. There is also a buffered mode (BFM) that keeps the output unmuted while tuning, so you can check pitch without cutting the sound during a live set. On top of that, three display modes let you pick the readout you prefer, including a strobe simulation for fine adjustments.

Tuning modes cover Guitar, Bass and Chromatic, and holding the same button lets you set the A4 reference frequency anywhere from 430 to 450Hz. The tuner needs a 9V centre-negative DC power supply drawing under 100mA, which is not supplied. In the US this is often called a centre-negative adaptor as well, so the same unit works either side of the pond. With a tuning accuracy of ±0.1 cent and a small footprint, it fits neatly alongside your other pedals.

Frequently Asked

Does the NTU-3 come with a power supply?

No. It needs a 9V centre-negative DC power supply with a current draw under 100mA, which is bought separately. NU-X part 173.290UK is compatible.

What is the difference between the three output modes?

True-bypass (TB) passes your signal through untouched. Buffered (BF) mutes the output during tuning. Buffered mute-off (BFM) keeps the output unmuted so you can hear yourself while tuning live.

Can I tune a bass with this pedal?

Yes. It has dedicated Guitar, Bass and Chromatic tuning modes, so it works for both guitar and bass.

Can I change the reference pitch?

Yes. Holding the mode button lets you set the A4 tuning frequency between 430 and 450Hz.

How accurate is the tuner?

Tuning stability is rated at ±0.1 cent, which is fine for both stage and studio work.

Is it small enough for a crowded pedalboard?

Yes. It measures 97.4 x 43.5 x 41.6mm and weighs 197.4g, so it fits into tight spaces on a board.
