Description

The NU-X NTK-61 is a MIDI keyboard controller with 61 full-size semi-weighted keys, giving you five octaves to work with. The keys offer velocity sensitivity with aftertouch, so the way you play carries through into your recordings. It sits at the top of the NTK range, joining the 25-key and 49-key models, and it comes with a feature set aimed at running a computer-based recording suite from one place.

Alongside the keyboard you get separate pitch bend and modulation wheels, a track pad for driving on-screen editors, and a bank of 9 assignable parameter sliders. To the left is a backlit display with a rotary encoder for moving through the onboard settings menu, plus transport keys for quick access to recording functions. As the flagship model, the NTK-61 adds a bank of 8 assignable rotary controls and a set of assignable trigger pads on the top panel. An inbuilt arpeggiator, smart scale and transpose/octave functions round out the controls.

Power and data run over a single USB-B connection at 5Vdc, and there is a 5-pin DIN MIDI out (called MIDI out in both the UK and US) for connecting to hardware. A 6.3mm jack input takes a sustain or expression pedal. Cubase LE is included in the box, and you can set up the keyboard on screen using the NTK Editor app. It works as a straightforward playing keyboard and as the hub of a digital recording setup, so most of what you need is covered without extra boxes.
