Description

The NU-X NRO-7 59 Bassguy is part of the Reissue series and captures the tones of the classic 1959 tweed tube amp, the forerunner of many later amp designs. It gives you the original crunch heard on rock and pop records over the past five decades, from clean edge-of-breakup right through to a fuller overdriven sound. If you want a pedal that leans on a well-known valve amp character rather than a modern high-gain voice, this is where it sits.

Gain and Master controls handle the move from clean to fully driven, and the Master lets you push the input of your amp channel for extra gain. A single Tone control sets how bright or warm the output is, so you can dial in more top end or roll it back for a rounder feel. There's also a Jump switch that copies the old trick of using a jumper lead to blend the bright and normal channels, giving you another flavour of overdrive from the same box.

The NRO-7 runs on a supplied 9V PP3 battery or an optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated power supply (not included). Note that in the US a power supply is often called an adaptor. The enclosure measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 293g, so it fits easily on most pedalboards. Input impedance is 1M Ohm and output impedance is 10k Ohm. Controls are Gain, Master, Tone, a Jump switch and a true footswitch (foot switch) for stomp control.
