Description

The NU-X NRO-6 63 Diamond is an overdrive pedal that recreates the sound of a classic British 30-watt class-A valve amplifier. That amp has been a favourite among guitarists since 1959 for its rich clean tones and its crunchy overdrive, and this pedal brings that character to your board without the weight of a full valve head. It sits comfortably with blues, classic rock and modern guitar styles, giving you access to those familiar British tones from a single unit.

You get Volume and Master controls to set the amount of drive, plus a Cut control that works just like the tone circuit on the original amplifier. There is also a Top Boost switch to add extra bite, a feature added to the amp design in 1963, which is where the pedal takes its name. True bypass switching keeps your signal clean when the pedal is off, so it stays out of the way until you need it. The styling nods to the cabinet that stood behind the bands of the British blues invasion and the rock groups that followed.

The NRO-6 runs on a 9V PP3 battery, which is supplied, or you can use an optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated power supply if you prefer to run it from the mains. Input impedance is 1M Ohm and output impedance is 10k Ohm. The pedal measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 230g, so it takes up little room on a crowded pedalboard. Controls cover Volume, Master, Cut, Top Boost and the foot switch, giving you plenty of scope to dial in the tone you want.
