Description

The NU-X NMT-1 brings together a cable tester and a tuner in one small unit, aimed at guitar and bass players who look after their own pedal boards. Two pairs of connectors let you test DC jack power leads and 6.3mm audio jack leads, so you can check a cable is doing its job before you rely on it during a gig or session. It is a practical bit of kit to keep in a gig bag or on the workbench.

By passing power through the unit, you can read the voltage and current being fed to your pedals. The measurement range covers 9-28V and 0-2A, which is enough to cover most common pedal power needs. This means you can confirm a power supply is delivering what a pedal expects, rather than guessing at a fault when something is not working as it should.

The large colour display makes tuning easy to read on the fly, and the inbuilt chromatic tuner covers A0 (27.5Hz) up to C8 (4186.0Hz) with a tuning stability of ±1 cent. Power comes from an internal rechargeable Li-ion battery that charges over USB-C, so there are no separate batteries to replace. At 95 x 71 x 30mm and 125g, it takes up little room and adds a useful pairing of tools to a well-equipped pedal board.
