Description

The NU-X NDD-7 is an echo and delay pedal built to recreate the sound of vintage tape echo units. It gives you 7 different simulation types, so you can move between classic tape echo tones and other period-correct delay characters. Alongside the delay it has a separate spring reverb effect, and there's a sound-on-sound (SOS) mode that turns the pedal into a 40 second looper. Delay times reach up to 1600ms, which is plenty for long trailing repeats.

For a genuine retro feel, the NDD-7 includes Wow & Flutter settings that add the pitch movement of an ageing tape, plus a Saturation control that brings natural compression and degradation. Push it far enough and the pedal will drive into self-oscillation, much like a real tape echo. Two foot switches handle effect on/off and tap tempo, and they also work as looper and display controls. Above them sit Time, Repeat, Level and Reverb knobs, with a 2-band EQ (Bass and Treble) to shape the tone of your repeats.

Connections cover stereo or mono output, an external expression pedal input, and MIDI in and out for integration with the rest of your rig. A USB port lets you edit settings on a PC and install firmware upgrades, which makes it easy to work alongside a DAW or project studio setup. It runs on a 9Vdc pin-negative supply (not included) and measures 115 x 105 x 58mm, so it fits neatly on a crowded pedalboard. If you want a range of vintage echo sounds in one compact unit, the NDD-7 covers a lot of ground.
