Description

The NU-X Mighty Air is a compact wireless stereo amplifier for guitar or bass, with a rechargeable internal battery and Bluetooth connectivity. It runs on its own battery or from any USB power source rated at 2A or above, so you can play away from the mains for up to 18 hours. Dedicated guitar and bass amp and speaker presets come from NU-X's own TSAC high definition modelling, alongside an acoustic simulator and a full set of effects covering most genres.

A plug-in 2.4GHz wireless transmitter (or bug) comes in the box, giving you cable-free playing with a range of up to 15m and latency under 5ms. The transmitter recharges directly from the amplifier's 6.3mm input jack and lasts around 3 hours per charge. Bluetooth 4.2 lets you stream tracks from a phone or tablet to jam along with, or use the Mighty Air as a standalone speaker. A built-in drum machine provides accompaniment, and the free Mighty Air app for Android or iOS gives you deeper control over settings.

The stereo speaker system uses two 50mm (2 inch) drivers plus a passive bass radiator, with 10W output at 4 Ohms and a frequency response of 20Hz to 22kHz. The amplifier measures 186 x 98 x 91mm and weighs 780g, so it packs easily for travel. It suits bedroom practice, pre-show warm-ups and playing on the move. Recharging takes around 3 hours from a USB 5Vdc 2A adaptor, which you supply yourself.

Yes. It has separate guitar and bass modes, each with its own amp models, speaker presets and effects.

Is the wireless transmitter included?

Yes, a plug-in 2.4GHz wireless transmitter is supplied. It recharges from the amplifier's input jack and gives a range of up to 15m.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 18 hours for playback and around 3 hours for the guitar or bass transmitter. Recharging the amp takes about 3 hours.

What do I need to recharge it?

A USB power adaptor rated 5Vdc 2A or above. This is not included, so you will need to supply one or use an existing USB source.

Can I stream music to it?

Yes. Bluetooth 4.2 lets you stream from a phone or tablet, with a range of up to 10m, either to jam along with or as a standalone speaker.
