Description
The NU-X Mighty 8BT mkII is part of the new generation of Mighty practice amplifiers, bringing amp modelling and programming flexibility to a compact format. It runs from the included 12Vdc power adaptor, or you can fit 8 x AA batteries (optional) for portable use. The input section borrows from the Mighty Plug series to give you 7 programmable preset sounds, each accessible using a single channel select button.
You get a wide choice of amplifier models paired with preset IR (impulse response) speaker cabinet models, plus 18 slots for your own loadable IRs. On top of that there is a full set of modulation, delay and reverb effects, which you can select and add to each preset using the Mighty Editor software for PC and Mac, or the MightyAmp mobile app for iOS and Android. All of these are free to download from nuxefx.com, and Bluetooth lets you control the amp and stream music from your phone. Everything feeds the internal FRFR (full-range, flat-response) powered speaker for uncoloured playback of the amp and effect models.
There is also a dedicated microphone input with its own reverb send for vocals, which makes this handy for practice and for buskers. A built-in drum machine is controlled by a simple tap tempo and style button with a rotary volume control. Aux in and headphone out round off the panel, and USB handles PC/Mac editing or works as a recording interface (the ASIO driver is a free download). The result is a multi-purpose jamming and recording amp for guitar players across all genres. Output is 8W into a 165mm (6.5") 4 Ohm full-range speaker, and the whole unit weighs 2.6kg.

Frequently Asked
How is the Mighty 8BT mkII powered?
It runs from the included 12Vdc power adaptor, or from 8 x AA batteries (sold separately) for portable use away from mains power.
What is an FRFR speaker?
FRFR stands for full-range, flat-response. It plays back the amp and effect models without adding its own colour, so you hear the modelled sounds as intended.
Can I load my own IRs?
Yes. The amp has 18 user-loadable IR (impulse response) slots alongside the preset cabinet models, so you can add your own speaker captures.
How do I edit the presets?
Use the Mighty Editor software on PC or Mac, or the MightyAmp app on iOS and Android. Both are free from nuxefx.com. Bluetooth handles editing and music streaming from your phone.
Does it work as a recording interface?
Yes. The USB port lets you edit on PC/Mac or record directly. A free ASIO driver is available for download.
Is there a microphone input?
Yes, there is a dedicated mic input with its own reverb send for vocals, which suits practice sessions and buskers.
