Description
The NU-X MG-30 is a modelling effects processor that handles amp tones, cabinet emulation and effects in one floor unit. It runs dual high speed NXP RT processors using the NU-X TSAC-HD algorithm, giving you 30 amplifier models with bias tweaking so you can adjust how each one responds. Everything shows on a 4" colour LCD, and you edit in real time using rotary encoders and switches rather than menu diving.
Impulse response programming covers 8 guitar cabinets, 8 bass cabinets and 8 microphones across 3 axis positions, plus 3 acoustic guitar emulation profiles. On top of the amp and cab section sit 8 effect blocks (WAH, CMP, GATE, EFX, EQ, MOD, DLY and RVB) that you can reorder in the signal chain and save within each patch. The assignable expression pedal handles wah, volume swells and other parameters, and the included NMP-2 footswitch adds remote control for switching patches and effects on stage.
There's a built-in USB audio interface over USB-C for recording to a PC or Mac at 48kHz/32-bit, along with the editor, librarian and updater software. You also get a drum machine, a phrase looper of up to 60 seconds, an aux input, an effects loop (send and return) and a stereo headphone output. Stereo 6.3mm jack outputs feed an amp or mixer, and the unit ships with a 9Vdc adaptor. At 313 x 166 x 54mm and 1.5kg, it packs a lot of processing into one board without a large footprint.

Frequently Asked
How many amp models does the MG-30 have?
It offers 30 amplifier models using the NU-X TSAC-HD algorithm, each with bias tweaking so you can adjust how the amp responds.
Can I use the MG-30 as an audio interface?
Yes. It has a built-in USB audio interface over USB-C that records at 48kHz/32-bit to a PC or Mac, and works with the included editor, librarian and updater software.
Does it come with a power supply?
Yes, a 9Vdc 400mA pin-negative adaptor is included. The NMP-2 footswitch is also supplied for remote control.
What cabinet and microphone options are available?
Impulse response models cover 8 guitar cabinets, 8 bass cabinets and 8 microphones in 3 axis positions, plus 3 acoustic guitar emulation profiles.
Can I record loops or practise with a drummer?
Yes. There's a phrase looper of up to 60 seconds and a built-in drum machine, so you can lay down ideas and practise on your own.
How many effects can I use at once?
There are 8 effect blocks (WAH, CMP, GATE, EFX, EQ, MOD, DLY and RVB) that you can place at editable positions in the signal chain.
