Description
The NU-X DM-7X is a digital drum kit built for players who want high-end features without giving up playing feel. The drum pads take in three 8" toms and a 10" snare, each fitted with an industry-standard Remo mesh head that's been tested to over a million strokes. Every snare and tom is velocity sensitive and carries dual triggers for head and rim, so a single pad gives you a wide scope of voicings depending on where and how hard you strike. The cymbals include a 12" hi-hat, two 12" crashes and a 14" ride, all held on a curved, adjustable rack frame with lockable clamps and quick-release collars for the crash booms.
A heavy-duty kick pedal handles bass drum duties, and a free-standing hi-hat pedal rounds off the trigger set. Both pedals have extended floor supports for stability. Everything connects back to the DM-7X sound module, which holds 30 preset kits and 18 user slots you can customise. You can adjust the velocity profile for each drum or cymbal to fine-tune the feel, then edit individual components by hitting the trigger and turning the onboard rotary controls. Adjustable overdrive, compressor and reverb effects sit alongside the kits, and a set of backing tracks, a self-record function and a drum coach help with solo practice.
For connectivity, the module has USB for triggering sounds in a digital recording suite (a DAW) and for firmware updates, plus a 5-pin DIN MIDI out for external sound modules. Stereo output to a PA runs through L and R 6.3mm jacks, with a 3.5mm stereo headphone (US: headphone) jack for quiet practice. There's also an aux input and Bluetooth for playing along to your own tracks. Optional extra trigger inputs let you add more drums and cymbals later. The DM-7X ships with a 9Vdc power adaptor and gives you the feel of an acoustic kit with the functionality of a digital one, at any level.
