Description

The NU-X B-6 is a 2.4GHz wireless microphone system made specifically for saxophone players. The clip-on transmitter adjusts to attach to the bell of any standard saxophone, and a flexible gooseneck microphone connects to the transmitter and locks in place so you can direct it for the best sound pickup. Running on the license-free 2.4GHz band, it delivers high definition digital audio with low latency of under 4ms, so what you play reaches the desk without any noticeable delay.

At the heart of the system is a custom designed electret condenser capsule with special tuning and precision suspension. This helps avoid keying noise and unwanted resonant frequencies that can spoil an amplified saxophone sound. Three voicing modes let you match the response to a Tenor, Alto or Soprano instrument, so you get a fitting tone for the horn you are playing. The receiver is an XLRM plug-in (XLR male) type that connects straight into a microphone input on a mixing console or amplifier, and the system auto-pairs on power up while seeking the best carrier for a stable link.

Both the transmitter and receiver are rechargeable and come supplied in a power case. The case recharges both units when they are stored, and it tops itself up via a standard USB type-C port. You get up to seven hours of playing time and a wireless range of up to 20m line-of-sight, with a battery saving mode to help stretch things out over a session. The result is freedom to move around the stage without being tied to a mic stand, along with straightforward, no-fuss operation for gigging saxophonists.
