Description

The Nora is an 18cm-diameter pendant light built around a double-layer glass shade — an outer clear glass cylinder enclosing an inner frosted glass tube that acts as the diffuser. The fitting hangs from a white metal ceiling canopy with a wood-effect collar sitting between the canopy and the outer glass, giving the pendant a Scandinavian-influenced appearance. A single E27 bulb inside the frosted inner tube casts soft, evenly diffused light through both glass layers.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, bedside positions and hallway clusters, the Nora suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The drop is adjustable between 400mm and 1800mm on installation, allowing it to be set at the correct height for a worktop (typically 600-700mm clearance above the surface) or a dining table (typically 700-800mm). The white canopy fits a standard UK ceiling rose and the cable is concealed within the suspension rod.

The double-glass construction gives the pendant depth when lit and unlit — the frosted inner tube prevents direct glare from the bulb while the clear outer glass adds a second layer of reflection and refraction. The wood-effect collar between the canopy and the glass provides a natural accent that pairs well with oak, walnut and light-toned timber furniture. At 1.7kg the fitting has enough weight to hang straight on the suspension cable without additional ballast.

No. The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb which is sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting, or a higher output bulb for task lighting above a kitchen worktop.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electronics — dimming is controlled by the bulb and dimmer combination.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by cutting the suspension cable to the desired length between 400mm and 1800mm. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and the cable re-cut.

What ceiling height is needed?

For a dining table or kitchen island the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Nora if the suspension cable is set to the minimum 400mm drop.
