Description

The Nolmane is an outdoor floor lamp in the style of a Victorian street lantern: a hexagonal head of clear glass panels under a curved canopy with a pointed finial, raised on a slim post that flares into a broad foot. It stands 120cm tall and 23cm in diameter, and its base measures 17cm in diameter. The body is cast aluminium in black with a silver patina, so the silver shows through on the edges and raised details for an aged, weathered look. It takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, which is not included, and it is rated IP44: protected from splashing water, so it lives outdoors in the garden.

At 120cm it is tall enough to light the way along a path or drive, mark the edge of a lawn or stand beside a front door, so visitors can find the step and the keyhole after dark. The traditional lantern shape sits naturally with period brick houses and cottage gardens, and the black finish looks as much at home against a modern rendered wall or a timber door. Because the head is glazed in clear glass on every side, it sends light out in every direction rather than in a single beam, which suits a lamp standing in open ground.

There is no switch on the lamp itself: it is switched at the wall, so you turn it on and off from a wall switch. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply. Aluminium does not rust, which matters for a light that lives outdoors. Choose any E27 bulb up to 60W: a clear filament bulb shows the glass head at its best, while a frosted bulb gives a softer look. The lamp weighs 2.194KG packed.
