Description

The Nimbus is a compact LED wall light from Mantra with a frosted white acrylic diffuser mounted on a polished chrome rectangular backplate. The fitting houses an integrated 5W LED module emitting 450 lumens at 3000K warm white, with the frosted diffuser softening the light into a gentle wash across adjacent walls and ceilings. The cylindrical diffuser measures 100mm wide by 50mm high and projects 150mm from the wall once mounted.

Designed for hallways, landings, bedrooms and bathroom zones where IP20 is acceptable, the Nimbus provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 450-lumen output is sufficient to light a 2-3m hallway section or act as bedside lighting without overpowering smaller rooms. The 150mm projection keeps the fitting clear of doorframes and furniture positioned against walls, while the polished chrome base adds a reflective accent that works with both contemporary and traditional sanitaryware and fixtures.

The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement, with the 5W module rated for typical LED lifespan of 25,000+ hours of continuous use. The frosted white diffuser hides the internal LED array when the light is off, presenting as a clean white cylinder rather than showing individual diodes. The polished chrome finish on the backplate and mounting hardware coordinates with chrome taps, towel rails and door furniture commonly found in bathrooms and utility spaces. At 0.36kg the fitting is light enough to mount on plasterboard with appropriate fixings.

The fitting is rated IP20, which means it is suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure (typically Zone 3 and beyond). It should not be installed directly above or adjacent to a shower head or bathtub where water spray can reach it.

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The module is rated for typical LED lifespan of 25,000+ hours, which translates to approximately 10-15 years of normal domestic use at 4-6 hours per day.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED module is not compatible with dimmer switches. Connecting the fitting to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the LED driver.
