Description

The New England is a 360mm diameter outdoor flush ceiling light with two E27 bulb fittings housed behind seeded glass panels in a weathered bronze frame. The shallow 200mm depth sits close to the ceiling, making it suitable for covered porches, verandas and outdoor areas with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant or lantern would hang too low.

The IP44 rating protects the internal components from water spray and solid objects above 1mm, which makes the fitting suitable for outdoor use under shelter but not in fully exposed positions where driving rain would reach the fitting directly. The seeded glass panels diffuse light from the bulbs without creating harsh shadows, and the hand-blown glass shows subtle bubble and texture variation between individual panels.

The weathered bronze finish is a dark brown tone with bronze undertones showing through, achieved by applying a patina to the metal frame that mimics natural weathering. This gives the fitting a lived-in appearance rather than a bright metallic shine, which suits traditional and Arts & Crafts style exteriors. The frame geometry follows early 20th-century lantern design, with curved lower panels meeting flat upper panels at the ridged top plate.

The seeded glass panels can be wiped with a damp cloth when the power is isolated and the bulbs have cooled. Avoid spraying cleaning solutions directly onto the fitting — spray onto the cloth instead to prevent solution entering the housing through the ventilation gaps.
