Description

The Neutrik NYS373-9 is a professional RCA phono plug with an all-metal body, gold-plated centre pin and a white identification band for channel marking in stereo or multi-channel audio installations. The plug accepts cables up to 6mm outer diameter and uses a two-part clamp design that grips both the conductor and the outer jacket.

Designed for studio patching, DJ setups, home audio terminations and AV installations where reliable phono connections are needed, the NYS373-9 suits both permanent wiring and field-serviceable cable assemblies. The white ID band sits on the outer barrel, allowing quick visual identification of left/right channels or specific signal paths in multi-cable runs. The centre pin accepts solder, and the outer barrel clamps onto the cable shield with a screw-tightened collar.

The all-metal construction provides shielding against RF interference and physical durability in environments where connectors are repeatedly plugged and unplugged. The gold-plated centre pin resists corrosion and maintains low contact resistance over time. The plug body is nickel-plated and the cable entry accepts both screened and unscreened cables, making it compatible with standard audio interconnect cable, coaxial RG59, and similar constructions commonly used in domestic and professional audio systems.

Frequently Asked

What cable diameter does it accept?

The NYS373-9 accepts cables up to 6mm outer diameter. This covers most standard audio interconnect cables and RG59 coaxial cable used in phono/composite video applications.

Is soldering required?

Yes. The centre pin requires soldering to the signal conductor, and the outer barrel clamps onto the cable shield and jacket. Basic soldering equipment and skill are needed for termination.

What does the white band indicate?

The white identification band is used for channel marking. In stereo setups, white or black bands typically mark the left channel, while red marks the right. The band has no electrical function — it's a visual reference.

Are other colour bands available?

Yes. Neutrik produces the NYS373 series with red, black, yellow, blue and other colour bands. Use the search function to find alternative colours in stock at Niori.
