Description

The Neutrik NL4MPXX is a 4-pole Speakon panel socket designed for chassis mounting in PA speakers, amplifier racks, and fixed audio installations. The socket features a 25 x 30mm square metal flange with two screw mounting holes and solder terminals on the rear for direct cable connection. The 4-pole configuration supports bi-amped speaker systems and high-power applications where separate woofer and tweeter feeds run through a single connector.

Used in professional PA cabinets, powered speaker enclosures, and amplifier back panels, the NL4MPXX provides the industry-standard Speakon locking connection between amplifiers and speakers. The twist-lock mechanism on compatible Speakon plugs prevents accidental disconnection during transport or live use, while the rated current capacity handles high-wattage amplifier outputs without thermal degradation at the connection point.

The square flange mounts flush to flat panels using two M3 or similar screws, with the flange sitting proud of the panel surface to accept the depth of the mating plug. Solder terminals on the rear accept cable cores up to 2.5mm², allowing direct termination of speaker cable without intermediate connectors. The metal construction of the flange and the reinforced plastic body provide mechanical strength at the mounting points where the socket is repeatedly connected and disconnected.

What panel thickness does it suit?

The NL4MPXX mounts to panels between 1.5mm and 6mm thick. Thicker panels may require recessing or counter-boring the mounting area to allow the rear of the socket body to clear the panel.

Is the flange compatible with round panel cutouts?

No. The NL4MPXX has a square 25 x 30mm flange. For round chassis mounting, Neutrik produces the NL4MP-ST series with a circular D-size flange that fits standard circular panel cutouts.
