Description

The Neutrik NC3FD-LX is a 3-pin XLR chassis-mount female socket with solder terminals and a 2-screw panel fixing system. The connector accepts standard 3-pin XLR male plugs and provides balanced audio connection for microphones, line-level signals and other professional audio equipment. The D-series housing uses Neutrik's latch-lock mechanism to secure the mating plug.

Designed for permanent installation in mixer panels, patch bays, stage boxes, equipment racks and amplifier rear panels, the NC3FD-LX mounts through a standard D-series chassis cutout and fixes with two M3 screws. The solder terminals accept cable conductors up to 2.5mm² and provide separate connection points for pins 1, 2 and 3 plus an earth contact linked to the metal shell.

The zinc die-cast body and nickel-plated contacts resist corrosion in touring and installed audio environments. The 2-screw fixing distributes mechanical stress across the panel, reducing the risk of connector loosening under repeated plug insertion and removal. The connector meets IEC 61076-2-103 specifications for XLR connectors and carries Neutrik's standard durability rating for professional audio applications.

Frequently Asked

What cable gauge does it accept?

The solder terminals accommodate cable conductors up to 2.5mm² cross-section. Most professional microphone and line-level cables fall within this range.

What panel cutout size is required?

The NC3FD-LX uses a standard Neutrik D-series chassis hole, which is 24mm diameter. The two M3 mounting screws fix the connector to the panel once inserted through the cutout.

Is it compatible with all XLR plugs?

Yes. The NC3FD-LX accepts all standard 3-pin XLR male plugs including Neutrik NC3MXX, Amphenol, Switchcraft and other manufacturers following IEC 61076-2-103 specifications.

What's the difference between the NC3FD-LX and NC3FDL-1?

The NC3FD-LX uses a 2-screw panel mount, while the NC3FDL-1 uses a single central screw fixing. The LX version distributes mounting stress more evenly, making it preferable for heavier-duty or high-vibration installations.
