Description

The Neutrik NAC3FXXB-W-L is a single-phase locking AC mains connector designed for power-out applications in professional audio, stage lighting and power distribution systems. The connector uses Neutrik's twist-lock system to secure the cable end to a matching powercon receptacle, preventing accidental disconnection during operation. It accepts 10-16mm cable diameter and uses screw-type terminals for secure wire attachment.

Built for touring, installed AV systems and temporary event power distribution where appliance couplers are unsuitable, the NAC3FXXB-W-L carries an IP20 rating for indoor use and is specified for operation from -33°C to +80°C. The connector is colour-coded and keyed to prevent intermating with non-compatible powercon types, and provides circuit breaking capability when connected to powercon XX series receptacles. The mechanical strain relief locks with the insert and aligns with the housing during assembly.

The screw terminal assembly provides secure attachment without requiring crimp pins, making it suitable for field installation where crimping tools may not be available. Rated for a typical 5,000 mating cycles and with contact resistance below 2 milliohms, the connector maintains low-resistance connections under repeated use. The housing is built from impact-resistant polymer and the internal contacts are rated for mains voltage AC power distribution.

Specification
Contact resistance ≤ 2 mΩ
Lifetime Typically 5'000 mating cycles
Terminals Screw type
Temperature range -33 °C to + 80 °C
IP rating IP20
Cable : diameter 10-16mm
Frequently Asked

What cable diameter does it accept?

The NAC3FXXB-W-L accepts cables between 10mm and 16mm in diameter. The strain relief clamps around the cable outer jacket to prevent pull-out of the wired terminals under load.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The IP20 rating specifies protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but no water ingress protection. This connector is designed for indoor use only or temporary outdoor use under dry shelter.

What is the power-out designation?

Power-out means the connector is designed to be fitted to the cable supplying power to a device, rather than the device inlet itself. It mates with a matching power-in receptacle on the powered equipment.

Does it require special tools to assemble?

No. The screw terminals accept stripped cable ends and are tightened with a standard flathead or Phillips screwdriver. No crimping tools are needed, making it suitable for field installation.
