Nero 8 Light Pendant - White Acid-Etched Glass

The Nero is a 550mm pendant light built from overlapping circular discs of curved, acid-etched glass arranged in two parallel rows around a central chrome canopy. Eight E27 bulb fittings sit behind the glass elements, with the acid-etched finish diffusing light evenly across the 210mm height and 550mm width of the fixture.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room centrepieces in spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Nero combines ambient and decorative function. The steel suspension cables are adjustable in length using integral automatic devices inside the canopy, allowing the pendant to be set anywhere from 400mm to 1500mm below the ceiling rose depending on room height and furniture position. The eight-bulb configuration provides sufficient brightness for a 6-8 person dining table or a 3-4m kitchen island when fitted with E27 LEDs totalling 40-60W equivalent output.

Each glass disc is curved along its length, creating a wave-like profile that catches and refracts light differently depending on viewing angle. The acid-etched treatment on the glass removes the glossy finish and creates a frosted surface that softens glare while maintaining translucency, so the bulbs remain visible as warm points of light through the material rather than harsh spots. The white finish on the glass pairs with the chrome metalwork to suit contemporary, Scandinavian and mid-century interiors where clean lines and tonal restraint are preferred.

Is the Nero dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable E27 bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. The fixture itself imposes no restriction on dimming — compatibility depends on the specific bulbs and dimmer model you choose.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Nero takes eight E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 5-8W each (2700K-3000K) for a combined output equivalent to 40-60W of traditional incandescent light.

How is the cable length adjusted?

The steel suspension cables feed through automatic cable-retention devices inside the chrome canopy. On installation, you pull the cables to the desired drop length and the devices lock them in place without tools. The drop can be adjusted from approximately 400mm to 1500mm depending on how much cable is fed through during fitting.

How is the glass cleaned?

The acid-etched glass can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth when the power is off and the bulbs have cooled. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with water and a drop of washing-up liquid is acceptable, but avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads which will damage the etched surface.
