Description

The Nerissa is a 320mm-wide wall light with a half-cylinder black fabric shade mounted on a polished chrome backplate, beneath which hangs a curtain of cut crystal octagon droplets arranged in vertical strands. The fitting houses two E14 bulbs (sold separately) hidden above the crystal to light the shade from within and cast reflections through the hanging crystals.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where a decorative accent is needed without deep projection, the Nerissa sits 160mm from the wall and provides both ambient uplight through the black shade and sparkle downlight through the crystals. The 265mm height suits installation above bedside positions, either side of mirrors, or spaced along a hallway at intervals of 1.8-2.4m. The black shade diffuses the light from the bulbs to soften glare while the polished chrome and crystal provide reflective accents.

The crystal droplets are individually faceted octagon beads strung on fine metal chains, creating a curtain effect that moves slightly when air circulates in the room. The black fabric shade is a fine-weave textile stretched over a metal frame, giving a soft-edged silhouette against the wall. The polished chrome backplate and arms catch ambient light during the day and contrast with the matte black of the shade. The fitting weighs 1.3kg and mounts to a standard UK flush or surface wall box.

The Nerissa takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for bedroom and living room use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not include dimming circuitry, so dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen.

How far does it project from the wall?

The fitting projects 160mm from the wall surface to the front of the black shade. The crystal droplets hang below the shade and add approximately 100mm of additional drop beneath the main body of the fitting.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Nerissa carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones where moisture or splash contact is possible.
