Description

The Neptune is a single-light wall fitting with a polished chrome arm supporting an optical prism glass cup and a faceted lead crystal ball suspended beneath the backplate. The glass cup refracts light through cut ridges that run from rim to base, while the crystal ball adds a second refractive element below. A G9 bulb (supplied) sits inside the glass cup, casting light upward and outward through the prism cuts.

Designed as accent lighting for hallways, bedroom reading positions, and living room alcoves, the Neptune provides decorative task light rather than primary room illumination. The 190mm projection from the wall suits spaces where the fitting needs to sit clear of furniture or door swings. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light during the day, adding a metallic accent even when the bulb is off.

The optical prism glass is moulded rather than hand-cut, giving uniform ridges across the cup surface that break white light into soft rainbow patterns on adjacent walls when lit. The lead crystal ball below the backplate weighs approximately 60g and hangs on a chrome pin, adding visual weight to the lower half of the fitting. At 145mm tall and 120mm wide, the Neptune sits comfortably between picture frames or mirrors in a hallway without dominating the wall plane.

Is the Neptune dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The supplied Luxram G9 bulb may or may not be dimmable — check the packaging or replace with a confirmed dimmable G9 LED if dimming is required.

What's the difference between the optical prism glass and standard clear glass?

The optical prism glass has moulded vertical ridges running from rim to base that refract light into soft colour patterns on adjacent walls. Standard clear glass would cast a uniform shadow. The prism effect is most visible against white or pale-coloured walls when the bulb is on.

Can the crystal ball be removed?

The lead crystal ball hangs on a chrome pin below the backplate and can be lifted off the pin during installation or cleaning. It's a decorative element rather than a structural part, so the fitting can be used without it if preferred.

What wall fixing is required?

The Neptune requires a standard UK wall box or a solid fixing point capable of supporting 0.8kg. The backplate mounts with two screws and conceals the electrical connections behind the chrome disc.
