The Murlwick curved arm outdoor wall light hangs its glass lantern from a sweeping metal arm, so the light sits 260mm clear of the wall and casts further across a path or driveway than a flush mounted fitting would. It is 298mm high and 103mm wide, finished in textured black with clear glass panes, and weighs 0.9kg. The IP44 rating means splashing rain is no problem, so this exterior wall light can be fitted on an exposed wall as well as beneath a porch or a canopy. One E27 lamp rated up to 10W in LED sits inside the lantern.

The arm is what makes this version useful. Mounted above a door, the lantern hangs out over the step rather than sitting behind you, which puts light on the keyhole and the threshold instead of the wall. On a driveway or beside a garage the reach helps light the ground where you actually walk. Clear glass leaves the lamp visible, so a warm filament LED reads as a traditional lantern while a plain opal lamp keeps glare down at eye level. Fit a pair either side of a wide door, or space them along a boundary wall to mark a route through a garden.

Arm, canopy and lantern are metal in a textured black finish, with clear glass panes. The texture is practical outdoors, hiding the water spotting and dust that a smooth finish would show. Wipe the glass and body with a damp cloth and dry them off two or three times a year, more often in coastal or salty air, and keep abrasive pads and solvent cleaners away from the finish.
