This little wooden mantel plaque says what so many of us feel about our mums in six simple words: first my MUM forever my FRIEND. The words are printed in dark grey, in a mix of relaxed handwritten script and neat capitals, with a sprig of leaves on either side of MUM. They sit on a soft grey wooden block with a gentle woodgrain texture, beside a sweetly drawn white house with a pitched roof, a chimney, a small window, an arched door and trailing leaves climbing its walls. It is a compact rectangular piece, 15cm wide, 5.5cm high and 2cm deep.
