Description

The Morne is a 600mm linear LED wall light with an integrated 16W LED strip delivering 1440 lumens of 4000K cool-white light through a white polycarbonate diffuser. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, making it suitable for mounting above mirrors, along vanity walls and in other moisture-prone areas where splashing water may occur but direct water jets are not expected.

Designed primarily as mirror lighting, the Morne mounts horizontally above bathroom mirrors to provide even, shadow-free illumination across the face. The 600mm width suits single and double basin vanities, and the 120° beam angle spreads light evenly without harsh pooling or dark spots. The 60mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of most mirrors while the white finish integrates cleanly with white tiled walls, painted plaster and modern bathroom cabinetry.

The integrated LED draws 16W on 230V mains and is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 8-10 years at typical daily bathroom use patterns. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and daylight, providing enough clarity for grooming tasks without the clinical tone of higher-temperature LEDs. The fitting is not dimmable and operates on a standard on/off switch.

The polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and sealed against moisture ingress at the edges. The backplate includes keyhole mounting points for wall installation, and the entire fitting weighs 0.5kg once assembled. The white finish is a matte powder coat that resists fingerprints and water spots better than gloss alternatives.

What bathroom zones can the Morne be installed in?

The IP44 rating allows installation in zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the shower enclosure and more than 600mm from a bath edge. It cannot be installed inside a shower enclosure or directly above a bathtub (zones 0 and 1).

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED strip is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced separately. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, which equates to around 8-10 years of typical bathroom use before noticeable degradation.

What width mirror does the 600mm fitting suit?

The 600mm length works well above mirrors between 500-900mm wide. For narrower mirrors the light may overhang slightly at each end; for wider mirrors (1000mm+) you may prefer to mount two Morne fittings spaced evenly or select a longer mirror light from the range.

Can it be mounted vertically?

The Morne is designed for horizontal mounting above mirrors. Vertical mounting is mechanically possible using the keyhole fixings, but the light distribution pattern is optimised for horizontal orientation and may appear unbalanced when mounted vertically.
