Description
The Morfia is a 200mm mushroom-form alabaster table lamp carved from solid Spanish alabaster, with the dome and stem cut to read as a single continuous shape. A natural brass G9 lamp holder sits inside the body and lights the stone from within, so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser rather than a separate shade. Height and diameter are matched at 200mm, giving a compact, near-cubic footprint.
This scale suits bedside tables, hall consoles, low sideboards and reading-nook side tables where a full-size lamp would crowd the surface. The lamp draws roughly a 200mm circle on the table and stands just under a typical bedside book stack, so it slots in alongside an alarm clock, glass of water or framed photograph without dominating. As ambient light it works well as a second-source lamp paired with a brighter overhead or task fitting.
Each Morfia is cut from a different section of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral inclusions and tonal warmth vary between individual pieces. When unlit the stone reads as soft white with faint amber and grey marbling; when lit, the veining emerges and the lamp glows with a warm honeyed cast that shifts depending on the angle of view. The natural brass fitting is left unlacquered, so its tone will warm and patinate gently over time rather than staying mirror-bright.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Morfia uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K gives the most flattering glow through the alabaster; cooler colour temperatures will read greyer and lose the honeyed character of the stone.
Does each lamp look the same?
No. Each Morfia is carved from a different block of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and the differences become more visible when the lamp is lit.
Is it dimmable?
The lamp itself has no inline switch or dimmer; dimming depends on pairing a dimmable G9 LED bulb with a compatible dimmer switch or plug-in dimmer module. Check that both bulb and dimmer are listed as compatible before installing.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household sprays, polishes and any chemical cleaners, as these can stain or etch the stone.
