The Montebuono is a long, slim LED pendant: a gold bar 180cm long and 5.5cm wide, hung on two fine wires from a black rectangular ceiling canopy, and 150cm tall overall. The body is aluminium and steel in a black, brown and gold finish, and the bar is built in two sections that slide one along the other, so it can be closed up shorter or drawn out to its full length. Two integrated LEDs of 10.5W each give 1,300lm apiece at 3000K, a warm white, through a white plastic diffuser along the underside. It is rated IP20, which makes it an indoor light for dry rooms.

We picture it first over a dining table, where one long run of light reaches every place setting rather than pooling in the middle, and a kitchen island or a long desk suits it just as well. Because the bar slides, the same pendant can follow a change of table without a new fitting. The light falls downward, so plates and faces are lit, and the black canopy keeps the ceiling point neat and small. It suits anyone who wants a single clean line of light instead of a cluster of shades.
