Description

The Mixon is a 145mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a brushed nickel wire cage that surrounds a single E27 bulb fitting. The cage sits on a turned metal stem projecting 135mm from a circular ceiling plate, giving the light a nautical-industrial profile without requiring the drop height of a pendant. The open wire construction allows light to spread in all directions while the cage itself casts intersecting shadow lines across ceilings and walls.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.5m where a pendant would hang too low, the Mixon works in kitchens over worktops, bedrooms, small hallways, utility rooms and walk-in wardrobes needing functional overhead light with a defined aesthetic. The semi-flush mount sits close to the ceiling, leaving headroom clear while the cage gives enough visual presence to anchor a room without dominating it. The brushed nickel finish softens reflections compared to polished chrome and pairs with both warm and cool interiors.

The cage is formed from continuous wire loops that converge at the bottom guard, creating a tapered profile wider at the base than at the stem. The bulb sits inside the cage, visible through the wire but protected from accidental contact. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness depending on the room's use. The 145mm diameter keeps the fitting compact enough for small ceilings without losing impact.

What bulb does the Mixon take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) or cool white (4000K) depending on the room.

What ceiling height does it need?

The 135mm projection from ceiling to cage base works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. In lower ceilings the cage may sit below head height in doorways or walking areas, so measure the installation position before ordering.

Is the wire cage removable for bulb changes?

The cage is fixed to the stem and cannot be removed. The open wire construction allows bulbs to be changed by reaching through the cage gaps without needing to dismantle the fitting.

Can it be mounted on a sloped ceiling?

No. The Mixon is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting only. The weight distribution and stem angle are not suitable for sloped or angled ceilings.
