Description

The Miss is a 490mm-diameter pendant light built around a single moulded polyurethane shade that mimics the appearance of draped fabric, finished in gloss white with a polished chrome canopy and suspension cables. The shade houses three E27 bulb holders (bulbs sold separately) arranged inside the open base, with the light emitting downwards and through the white material itself.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and larger entrance halls where a sculptural pendant can act as both a light source and a visual anchor, the Miss works in spaces with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above. The adjustable cable drop allows the pendant to be set between 500mm and 1500mm below the ceiling rose, typically positioning the shade 700-900mm above a dining table surface or 1200-1400mm above floor level in a hallway. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the white fabric-wrapped cables conceal the electrical run.

The polyurethane moulding holds a rigid shape while presenting the visual effect of folded or gathered textile, with concave and convex ridges running vertically around the circumference. The gloss finish creates highlights that shift as viewing angle changes, giving the shade more visual depth than a flat white surface would. The 3.1kg weight comes from the solid polyurethane construction rather than thin stamped metal, and the shade arrives as a single pre-formed piece requiring no assembly beyond cable adjustment and bulb fitting.

The Miss takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair it with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W each and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for dining or living spaces. The bulbs sit inside the open base of the shade and are partially visible when viewing the pendant from below.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable E27 bulbs and pair the pendant with a compatible dimmer switch rated for the total wattage of the three bulbs. LED bulbs require LED-compatible dimmers. Older rotary dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause flickering.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above. For a dining table, the shade typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires approximately 2.7m ceiling height after accounting for the shade's own depth. The cable drop is adjustable between 500mm and 1500mm during installation.

How is the polyurethane shade cleaned?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For marks or dust buildup, a slightly damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the material and do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents or household sprays on the gloss finish.
