Description

The Miss is a 1650mm floor lamp built around a polished chrome column stem rising from a circular chrome base, topped with a 490mm diameter shade finished in gloss black polyurethane lacquer. The shade flares outwards from the top of the stem in a bell-like profile, housing three E27 bulb holders inside. The gloss black surface reflects surrounding light and gives the shade a lacquered depth rather than a flat matt finish.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and lounge areas where ambient light is needed alongside visual impact, the Miss sits in corners, beside sofas, or flanking seating groups. The 1650mm height brings the light source to head height when seated, diffusing the glow from three bulbs through the black shade. The chrome stem and base add reflective contrast against the black shade, and the 11.65kg weight keeps the lamp stable on carpet or bare floors without needing wall fixing.

The shade's flared shape and gloss finish suit contemporary, art deco-influenced and monochrome interiors. The black polyurethane is harder-wearing than fabric and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. How is the gloss black shade cleaned?

The polyurethane shade can be wiped with a barely-damp microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or smudges, a small amount of diluted washing-up liquid on the cloth works well. Dry immediately after wiping to avoid water marks on the gloss finish.

Is the lamp stable on rugs?

The 11.65kg weight and circular chrome base provide good stability on both bare floors and short-to-medium pile rugs. On very thick or shag rugs, placing the base on a firmer surface improves stability.
