Description

The Minster is a 6-arm chandelier finished in matt black with looped metal drapes connecting each candle-style lamp holder on curved arms radiating from a central column. The 480mm diameter and 420mm body height make it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m, where a traditional chandelier would typically hang too low. Six E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit in candle drips with cream sleeves, each accepting up to 60W.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways with lower ceilings, the Minster can be fitted as a standard pendant chandelier with a drop adjustable between 440mm and 1075mm, or converted to semi-flush fitting by omitting the chain and mounting the body directly to the ceiling rose. The black metal frame and looped drapes give a classical silhouette without the ornament of crystal or glass, pairing well with both traditional and modern-rustic interiors where a simpler chandelier is needed.

The Minster is part of Elstead Lighting's metalwork chandelier range, constructed from steel finished in a low-sheen matt black powder coat that resists fingerprints and sits comfortably with dark wood, exposed brick and neutral-toned walls. The cream candle sleeves soften the contrast between the black frame and clear or frosted E14 candle bulbs. Optional glass shades are available separately if a diffused light is preferred over exposed filament bulbs.

Can this be used in a room with low ceilings?

Yes. The Minster can be converted to a semi-flush fitting by removing the chain and mounting the chandelier body directly to the ceiling rose. In semi-flush mode the total drop from ceiling to lowest point is approximately 420mm, making it suitable for rooms with 2.3m ceilings where a standard pendant would hang too low.

What bulbs does it take?

The Minster takes six E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED filament candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a warm traditional look.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation between 440mm and 1075mm by shortening or extending the chain. Once installed, the chain cannot be adjusted without removing the chandelier from the ceiling rose.

Can glass shades be added?

Yes. Elstead produces optional glass shades for the Minster range, sold separately. The shades clip or screw onto the E14 lamp holders to diffuse light from exposed filament bulbs.
