Description

The Minster is a 3-light chandelier built around a central black metal column with three curved scrollwork arms, each terminating in a candle-style drip plate and an E14 bulb fitting. The frame is finished in matt black and the arms loop outward in a traditional chandelier silhouette, scaled for rooms with lower ceiling heights. The 370mm diameter and 345mm body height keep the fitting compact without losing the visual presence of a chandelier form.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m, the Minster can be fitted as a standard suspension chandelier with a 405mm minimum drop, or converted to a semi-flush mount by removing the chain section and fitting the canopy directly to the ceiling rose. The maximum drop of 1010mm is adjustable on installation by shortening the 640mm chain. Each arm holds an E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

The scrollwork on each arm is formed from a single continuous length of black metal rod, shaped into loops and curves that give the fitting a handcrafted appearance despite being a production piece. The matt black finish absorbs rather than reflects light, so the chandelier reads as a dark silhouette against the ceiling when lit, with the focus remaining on the three bulbs rather than the metalwork. Cream candle tubes sit inside the drip plates, providing a tonal contrast against the black frame.

Can this be fitted to a low ceiling?

Yes. The Minster can be converted from a chain-hung chandelier to a semi-flush ceiling fitting by removing the chain section and mounting the canopy directly to the ceiling rose. In semi-flush configuration the minimum drop is 405mm from ceiling to the lowest point of the fitting.

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with candle-shaped LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) at 4-6W equivalent to achieve the traditional candle aesthetic.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The 640mm chain can be shortened during installation to achieve any drop between 405mm and 1010mm. The chain links can be removed or left in place above the canopy depending on the ceiling height in your room.

What ceiling height is needed?

For a chain-hung installation, ceiling heights of 2.4m or above work well, allowing the chandelier to hang at a comfortable height above a dining table or in the centre of a room. Lower ceilings between 2.2m and 2.4m benefit from the semi-flush conversion option.
