Description

This round ceramic plaque brings a cheerful Mickey Mouse into the home, with the words 'Home is a magical place to be' arching over him in gold lettering. Mickey is printed in black in a vintage cartoon style, grinning widely with his hands tucked behind his back, and a scatter of small gold sparkles sits around him. A raised border of little Mickey heads runs all the way round the rim, and the white gloss glaze carries a fine dark speckle for a soft, homely look. It measures 12.1cm across and 2.1cm deep, a small, neat piece rather than a large wall feature.

Its message makes it a natural fit for a hallway or entrance, where it greets everyone who comes through the door, but it sits just as happily in a kitchen, a living room or a bedroom. Being small, it looks good hung on its own from a door handle, a peg or a small hook, or grouped with framed prints and other small pieces on a gallery wall. The black print and gold lettering on white suit a neutral or monochrome scheme, and the vintage artwork gives a gentle, nostalgic charm without overwhelming a room.

The plaque is ceramic with a gloss finish, and it hangs from a black ribbon hanger threaded through two small holes near the top, so a single hook or nail is all it needs. To keep it looking fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a damp cloth and dry it straight away. As with any ceramic, hang it where it will not be knocked or dropped. It is easy to wrap as a gift, and we think it makes a warm, cheerful present for anyone who loves Mickey Mouse and the comfort of home.
