Description

The Mesh Medium is an 80cm teardrop pendant light built from a flexible black wire cage, with 96 acrylic-diffused LEDs positioned at the intersections of the mesh. Each LED point reads as a small illuminated disc against the open structure, giving the fitting a constellation effect when lit. Total integrated output is 80W at 3000K warm white, fed from a circular black ceiling canopy.

The shape is designed to suit double-height stairwells, atriums, larger dining rooms and open-plan living spaces where the full 80cm diameter and 80cm height of the cage can be appreciated from multiple angles. Because the wire structure is semi-transparent, the fitting reads as a glowing teardrop of points rather than a solid mass, so it does not visually crowd a room despite its scale.

The frame is iron with a matt black finish and the diffuser elements are acrylic, keeping the overall weight manageable for a fitting of this volume. The 96 individual LED points are integrated into the structure rather than replaceable bulbs, so the light source and the decorative form are one and the same. Viewed unlit, the cage holds its sculptural teardrop silhouette; viewed lit, the iron disappears and the dot pattern takes over.

The cage itself is 80cm tall, plus the suspension wires and ceiling canopy above. It works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or more, including stairwells, double-height halls and open-plan dining areas. The drop length can usually be adjusted on installation to suit the room.

Are the LEDs replaceable?
