Description

The Merrick is a six light semi-flush ceiling light in a warm brass finish, built from brass and metal. It's a generous size, measuring 540mm across with a 480mm projection, so it makes a real impact in a room with the height to take it. Each of the six arms takes a G9 lamp, spreading light out across the width of the fitting rather than from one central point.

With six lamps and a wide spread, the Merrick suits larger rooms and higher ceilings, a big dining room, an open plan kitchen diner or a generous living room where a small pendant would look lost. The light is even and ambient rather than directional, so it works well as the main source of light in the room rather than a purely decorative extra. Warm brass brings a bit of traditional character without feeling fussy, holding its own in both a period room and a newer build looking for some warmth overhead.

We leave the brass with a slightly aged look rather than a bright polish, so it won't show fingerprints as readily and will settle in over time rather than dating. Wipe it over with a dry, soft cloth, and keep harsh or abrasive cleaners away from the metal. It is fully dimmable with compatible dimmable lamps and a suitable dimmer switch, so six lamps' worth of light can still be brought down to something gentler in the evening, and the same finish continues through the wider Merrick range if you would like to carry it elsewhere in the home.

At 540mm across, it's built for larger spaces, a big dining room, an open plan area or a hallway with real height, rather than a small box room.

It projects 480mm from the ceiling, so it needs a reasonably generous ceiling height to sit comfortably without feeling low.
