The Mercury ST04P is a compact, portable UHF mast aerial (antenna) built for digital HDTV reception on the move. It's lightweight at just 100g and measures 160 x 70 x 70mm, so it packs down small and sits easily on a shelf, dashboard or roof. The design suits portable TVs and laptop TV tuners, making it a practical choice for both the home and the road.

A magnetic base lets you fix the aerial to metal surfaces, using that surface area to help pull in a cleaner signal. That makes it a sensible fit for the roof of a car, truck, campervan or motorhome. The 3m RF coaxial lead gives you plenty of slack to position the mast where reception is strongest, then run the cable back to your set. Setup is plug and play, with no tuning boxes or extra kit to worry about.

It receives Digital Terrestrial TV broadcasts within roughly a 30 to 35 mile radius of a transmitter, working across the UHF band from 470 to 694MHz at 75 Ohms impedance and 2 to 4 dB gain. An integrated LTE filter helps keep 4G and 5G mobile signals from interfering with your picture. With an IPX4 rating it copes with splashes and light weather, so occasional outdoor use is fine. It receives Digital Terrestrial TV within about a 30 to 35 mile radius. Reception depends on your location, terrain and how well you can position the mast.

Does the magnetic base need a metal surface?

The magnet holds the aerial firmly on metal surfaces, and using that surface area can help improve reception. On non-metal surfaces you can still stand it upright, but you lose that benefit.

How long is the cable?

The RF coaxial lead is 3m long, which gives you room to place the aerial for the best signal and run the cable back to your TV or tuner.

Will it work with a laptop TV tuner?

Yes. It's designed for portable TVs and laptop TV tuners as well as standard sets, using a plug and play connection.
