Description

The Mercury IPS300-24 is a pure sine wave inverter that runs 230V mains equipment from a 24V battery or DC power supply. It gives a clean output waveform with less than 4% total harmonic distortion (THD), which makes it suited to sensitive electronics as well as everyday appliances. With over 90% efficiency, it draws less from your battery for a given load, so you keep more of your stored power for the job in hand.

We built in a soft start feature to reduce the chance of the inverter shutting down when you switch on large inductive loads. Protection covers low and over voltage input, short circuit, overload, overheating and reverse polarity, and an LED with an audible alert tells you when a fault occurs. The unit ships with a pair of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse, so you can wire it in and keep a replacement to hand.

This 24V model is one of a range that also includes 12V versions, so check you pick the input voltage that matches your battery. It works well for camping, in vans and lorries, or as back-up power during a blackout, running TVs, computers, kettles and similar kit. As a guide, choose an inverter rated for at least three times a device's rated power to allow for current surge. Fridges and freezers can surge up to seven times their rated power, so size accordingly.

Frequently Asked

What input voltage does the IPS300-24 need?

It runs from a 24V battery or DC power supply. A 12V version is available in the same range, so make sure you order the one that matches your input power.

What is the output rating?

The output is 230Vac at 50Hz, with a continuous rating of 300W.

Why does it use a pure sine wave?

A pure sine wave with less than 4% THD closely matches mains supply, so it suits sensitive electronics and everyday appliances alike, with fewer issues than a modified sine wave.

Does this 300W model have a USB socket?

No. The built-in 1000mA USB socket is fitted to the 600W and 1000W versions in the range, not this 300W model.

What size inverter should I choose for my device?

We recommend an inverter rated for at least three times the device's rated power to cope with current surge. Fridges and freezers can surge up to seven times their rating, so allow extra headroom.

What is supplied in the box?

The inverter comes with one pair of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse.
