Description
This Mercury inverter produces a pure sine wave to power 230V mains equipment from a 12V battery or DC power supply. It gives you a clean output with less than 4% total harmonic distortion (THD), which makes it suitable for sensitive electronics as well as more general appliances. Rated at 300W, it works well with TVs, computers, kettles and other everyday devices you might need away from mains power.
We built in a soft start feature that reduces the chance of the inverter shutting down when you switch on large inductive loads. Efficiency runs at over 90%, and there is a full set of protections included: low and over voltage input protection, short circuit, overload, overheat and reverse polarity protection. An LED and audible fault indicator lets you know if something is wrong. The IPS300-12 comes with a pair of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse.
This model is the 12V input version, so please check you are matching it to the correct battery voltage before you order, as a 24V version is also available. As a guide, we recommend an inverter rated at a minimum of three times the device's power to avoid damage from any current surge. Fridges and freezers can surge up to seven times their rated power, so allow extra headroom for those. It suits camping, commercial vans and lorries, or back-up power during a blackout.

Frequently Asked
What input voltage does the IPS300-12 use?
It is the 12V DC input version. A separate 24V version is available, so check you select the right one for your battery or power supply.
What can I run from a 300W inverter?
It suits everyday appliances such as TVs, computers and kettles. Keep the connected device well within the 300W rating.
Why should I size the inverter above my device's rating?
We recommend an inverter capable of at least three times the device's rated power to cope with current surges. Fridges and freezers can surge up to seven times their rating.
What is the output quality like?
It produces a pure sine wave with less than 4% total harmonic distortion (THD), which makes it suitable for sensitive electronics.
Does this 300W model have a USB socket?
No. The built in 1000mA USB socket is fitted on the 600W and 1000W versions only.
What protections are included?
Low and over voltage input protection, short circuit, overload, overheat and reverse polarity protection, plus LED and audible fault indicators.
