Description

The Mercury IMS600-12 is a modified sine wave inverter that takes 12V DC from a battery or power supply and outputs 230V AC mains at 50Hz. It gives you up to 600W of continuous power, so you can run TVs, lighting, fans, kettles and many other everyday appliances away from the mains. We find it well suited to camping, commercial vans and lorries, or as back-up power during a blackout when you need to draw on charged batteries.

Efficiency sits at over 85%, and the soft start feature helps reduce inverter shutdown when you switch on larger inductive loads. There's a built-in 2.1A USB socket for charging phones and small devices directly, alongside the main AC output. Protection is built in throughout, covering low and over voltage input, short circuit, overload and overheating. An LED and audible fault indicator lets you know if something isn't right, so you can respond before any damage is done.

The IMS600-12 comes with one pair of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse. This is the 12V input version, so please make sure it matches the DC supply you plan to use, as 24V versions are also available. As a rule, keep your device well within the output rating and choose an inverter rated for at least three times the device's power to allow for current surge. For voltage-sensitive gear or audio equipment, a pure sine wave inverter is the better choice.

Frequently Asked

What can I run from the IMS600-12?

It powers 230V mains equipment such as TVs, lighting, fans and kettles from a 12V battery or DC supply, up to 600W continuous. Keep your device well within that rating.

What is the difference between modified and pure sine wave?

Modified sine wave suits most everyday appliances. For voltage-sensitive devices, inductive loads or audio equipment, we recommend a pure sine wave inverter, which is more suitable for those uses.

Does it have a USB output?

Yes, there is a built-in 2.1A USB socket for charging phones and small devices alongside the 230V AC output.

What protection features are included?

It covers low and over voltage input, short circuit, overload and overheat protection, with an LED and audible fault indicator to warn you of any problems.

How do I size the inverter for my device?

We recommend using an inverter capable of supplying at least three times the device's rated power. This allows for current surge and helps avoid damage to the inverter.

What is supplied in the box?

You get the inverter, one pair of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse.
