Description

The Mercury IMS1500-24 is a modified sine wave inverter that lets you run 230V mains equipment from a 24V battery or DC power supply. It gives you a practical way to power everyday appliances when you are away from the grid, whether that means camping, working from a commercial van or lorry, or keeping things running during a blackout. With over 85% efficiency, it puts more of your battery's charge to work rather than losing it as heat.

Rated at 1500W with a 230Vac 50Hz output, this unit is well suited to TVs, lighting, fans, kettles and similar household kit. A soft start feature helps to reduce the chance of the inverter shutting down when you switch on larger inductive loads. There is a built in 2.1A USB socket for charging phones and tablets, plus an LED and audible fault indicator so you can tell at a glance if something needs attention. Protection covers low and over voltage input, short circuit, overload and overheat conditions.

The inverter comes supplied with two pairs of 800mm DC power cables and a spare blade fuse. As a modified sine wave model, it is a good match for many general appliances, though for inductive loads, voltage sensitive devices or audio equipment we recommend a pure sine wave inverter instead. To protect the unit from current surges, we suggest choosing an inverter capable of supplying at least three times the rated power of the device you are running. A 12V version is also available, so please make sure you select the correct input version for your power source.

Frequently Asked

What input voltage does the IMS1500-24 use?

This version runs from a 24V battery or DC power supply. A separate 12V version is available if that suits your setup better, so check you have selected the right one.

What can I power with a 1500W inverter?
