This handheld magnifying glass from Mercury gives you 3x magnification with three built-in LED lights, so you can read small print or work on fine detail with plenty of extra illumination. The lights sit around the lens and shine onto whatever you are looking at, which is handy when the room light alone isn't quite enough. It weighs just 136g, so it's easy to hold for longer stretches without your hand getting tired.

The lens and body measure 240 x 115 x 21mm, giving you a decent viewing area alongside a comfortable handle. The LEDs put out 80 lumens between them, which is enough to light up text, threads, wiring diagrams or anything else that needs a closer look. Power comes from 2 x AA batteries, which fit inside the handle. These aren't supplied, so pick up a pair before you start. The white finish keeps it plain and practical.
