The Mercury DMR-1WHT is a plug-in dimmer that lets you make any lamp dimmable without touching your wiring. It sits between the plug and a standard UK wall socket, so you just plug it in and go. From there you can adjust the light intensity to suit the room, whether you want bright light for reading or something lower for the evening.

It works with all dimmable bulbs, including LED, which makes it a flexible option for table lamps, floor lamps and other mains-powered lighting. The dial gives you smooth control over brightness, so you can set the level you want rather than relying on a simple on/off switch. Because it plugs straight into a socket (US: outlet), there is no need for an electrician or any rewiring.
