Description
The Mercury CMTS01 is a digital clamp multimeter with true RMS and eight smart functions. It arrives ready to use, supplied with shrouded test leads and two AAA batteries. The idea behind the smart functions is straightforward: you connect the probes to your equipment and the meter detects the input, then displays it in the correct format. There is no need to make selections on the unit, so you avoid the false readings that can come from choosing the wrong mode by mistake.
Whether you are measuring current, voltage, resistance, capacitance or continuity, the CMTS01 handles the reading for you. It covers AC current from 300mA to 600A, AC and DC voltage from 500mV to 600V, capacitance from 6nF to 60mF and resistance from 6 Ohms to 60 MOhms. The clamp-on jaw lets you measure high power mains safely without breaking the circuit. There is also a non-contact voltage test function that detects the presence of AC voltage in switches, circuit breakers, cables and light fixtures.
The 1 inch, 4 digit LCD display is easy to read and includes a backlight for working in darker spaces such as consumer units, loft areas and cupboards under stairs. A low battery indicator and auto power off help you keep track of the battery and save charge when the meter is left idle. The unit measures 187 x 65 x 24mm and weighs 150g, with 700mm test leads. It conforms to EN61010-1:2010.

Frequently Asked
What can the CMTS01 measure?
It measures AC current up to 600A, AC and DC voltage up to 600V, capacitance up to 60mF, resistance up to 60 MOhms, plus continuity. It also has a non-contact voltage detection function.
Do I need to select the measurement mode?
No. The smart functions detect the input from the probes and display the reading in the correct format automatically, which helps avoid false readings from the wrong setting.
Is it supplied ready to use?
Yes. It comes with shrouded test leads and two AAA batteries included, so you can start using it straight out of the box.
Can it measure mains circuits safely?
Yes. The clamp-on jaw lets you measure high power mains current without touching the conductor, and it conforms to EN61010-1:2010.
Can I use it in dark spaces?
Yes. The 1 inch 4 digit LCD display has a backlight, which helps when working in consumer units, lofts and other dim areas.
How long are the test leads?
The supplied test leads are 700mm long and shrouded for safer handling.
