The Mercury CMT01 is a clamp-on digital multimeter that gives you 8 test ranges and 5 test functions in one handy tool. The clamp-on jaw lets you measure high power mains current safely without breaking the circuit, so you can take readings on live cables and keep your hands clear of the conductor. It reads DC voltage up to 600V, AC voltage up to 600V, AC current from 200 to 1000A, and resistance from 200 Ohms up to 2M Ohms.

A continuity test function helps you check circuits and connections quickly, with a data hold function that freezes the reading on the display so you can note it down after moving the probes away. The meter runs on a single 9V PP3 battery, which is included, and it conforms to EN61010-1:2010 for safe use around mains voltages. At 230 x 68 x 37mm and 203g, it sits comfortably in one hand and fits easily into a tool bag.
