Description
The Mercury CMT01 is a clamp-on digital multimeter that gives you 8 test ranges and 5 test functions in one handy tool. The clamp-on jaw lets you measure high power mains current safely without breaking the circuit, so you can take readings on live cables and keep your hands clear of the conductor. It reads DC voltage up to 600V, AC voltage up to 600V, AC current from 200 to 1000A, and resistance from 200 Ohms up to 2M Ohms.
A continuity test function helps you check circuits and connections quickly, with a data hold function that freezes the reading on the display so you can note it down after moving the probes away. The meter runs on a single 9V PP3 battery, which is included, and it conforms to EN61010-1:2010 for safe use around mains voltages. At 230 x 68 x 37mm and 203g, it sits comfortably in one hand and fits easily into a tool bag.
Everything you need to start work is in the box. The CMT01 comes with shrouded test probes (also called test leads), a zipped carry bag to keep the parts together, and the battery ready fitted. It suits electricians, maintenance staff and anyone working on domestic or light commercial installations who wants a straightforward way to take current and voltage readings. Whether you say multimeter or multitester, this is a practical option for everyday fault-finding and checks.

Frequently Asked
What can the Mercury CMT01 measure?
It measures DC voltage up to 600V, AC voltage up to 600V, AC current from 200 to 1000A, and resistance from 200 Ohms to 2M Ohms, with 8 test ranges and 5 test functions in total.
How does the clamp-on feature work?
The clamp jaw opens around a single conductor to read current without breaking the circuit, so you can measure high power mains safely on live cables.
What battery does it use?
It runs on one 9V PP3 battery, which is supplied and fitted, so the meter is ready to use out of the box.
Is it supplied with test probes?
Yes. It comes with shrouded test probes, a zipped carry bag and the battery included.
Does it meet electrical safety standards?
Yes, the CMT01 conforms to EN61010-1:2010, the standard for safe use of test equipment around mains voltages.
What is the data hold function for?
Data hold freezes the reading on the display so you can move the probes away and still read the value, which is useful in awkward spots.
