Description

The Mercury AF5G is an in-line filter that removes interference and channel loss caused by nearby 4G and 5G mobile signals. As mobile networks expand into frequencies that sit close to the TV band, they can bleed into your reception and cause pixelation or dropped channels. This filter blocks those unwanted signals before they reach your equipment, so your picture stays clean.

Fitting it is straightforward. It sits directly in the line between your signal source and your TV, connecting via F-Type connectors, so there is no need for tools or rewiring. The body is fully shielded to keep signal interference to a minimum. It also passes DC power through the line, at 12 to 24Vdc up to 300mA, which means it can feed a masthead amplifier (the amplifier mounted at the aerial or antenna) without breaking the power path.

It works across a wide range of signals, covering Digital TV, satellite, cable and DAB/FM radio. The filter passes VHF from 5 to 300MHz and UHF from 470 to 694MHz, while rejecting the 5G frequencies above that band by more than 30dB. Insertion loss is a low 4dB, so wanted signals get through with little reduction. At 75 x 27 x 16mm and 46g, it is small enough to tuck away behind a TV or wall plate. If you have noticed reception problems since a new mast went up nearby, this is a simple thing to try before replacing an aerial or cabling.

Frequently Asked

Will this filter fix pixelation caused by 4G or 5G signals?

That is what it is designed for. It blocks interference from nearby 4G and 5G mobile signals that can cause pixelation, channel loss and dropouts, while letting your TV and radio signals through.

How do I install it?

Fit it in the line between your signal source and your TV, using its F-Type connectors. It plugs straight in with no tools required.

Does it pass power to a masthead amplifier?

Yes. It has a DC pass rated at 12 to 24Vdc, up to 300mA, so it will feed a masthead amplifier without interrupting the power supply.

What signals does it work with?

It is compatible with Digital TV, satellite, cable and DAB/FM radio. It passes VHF from 5 to 300MHz and UHF from 470 to 694MHz.

How much signal does it lose?

Insertion loss is 4dB, which is low, so wanted signals pass through with minimal reduction while 5G frequencies are rejected by more than 30dB.
