Description

This is a 48W replacement soldering iron built to work with a wide range of soldering stations that use a 5-pin DIN connection. It gives you a straightforward way to get an existing station back in service without replacing the whole unit. The iron measures 203mm in length, so it sits comfortably in the hand for detailed work at the bench.

At the heart of the iron is a ceramic heating element with a temperature range of 160 to 480°C. That range covers most everyday soldering jobs, from fine electronics work to heavier joints, and the ceramic element brings the iron up to heat quickly. The bit is fitted directly to the element, which keeps thermal loss to a minimum and helps the tip hold its set temperature while you work.

The iron connects to the station through a 5-pin DIN plug and runs on a 24Vac output, with the station itself powered from 230Vac at 50Hz. The 1.15m lead is made from heat-resistant silicone, so it stands up to accidental contact with the hot bit and stays flexible during use. Before ordering, check that your station takes a 5-pin DIN iron and matches the 24Vac output so you know it will be a direct fit.
