Description
Our Mercury 3W XPE Head Torch gives you a bright main beam alongside three extra coloured LEDs, so you can pick the right light for the job. The main light runs on a 3W XPE LED putting out up to 300 lumens on its high setting, with low and flashing modes as well. That flashing mode is handy when you want to signal or stay visible in low light.
Beyond the main beam, you get green, red and spotlight functions from the additional LEDs. The red and green options are useful when you want to keep your night vision or read a map without a harsh white glare, while the spotlight helps you pick out detail further ahead. Everything sits in a compact head torch (or headlamp in US terms) that stays out of the way once it's on.
It runs on 3 x AAA batteries, which are not supplied, and weighs just 65g so it won't feel heavy on your head over a long session. The IP44 weatherproof rating means it copes with splashes and light rain, making it a sensible choice for camping, cycling, dog walks, DIY, working under the car or general jobs around the house. It suits both indoor and outdoor use, so one torch covers most of what you need.
