Description

The Mayfair Shaggy Rug in Rose is a rectangular rug with a full, tousled shaggy pile in soft pink, its fibres streaked and tipped with white so the colour shifts as the light moves across it. There is no printed pattern: the interest comes from the pile itself, which falls in loose swirls and gives the rug a plush, almost fur-like look. The pink is a gentle, dusty rose rather than a bright one, and the white running through it keeps it light.

It brings warmth and colour to a living room, a bedroom or a reading corner. We sell it in four sizes. The 60 by 120cm and 80 by 150cm rugs suit a spot beside a bed, in front of an armchair or by a dressing table; the 120 by 170cm rug sits nicely in front of a sofa or under a coffee table; and the 160 by 230cm rug is large enough to sit under a seating area or under the lower half of a double bed.

This rug is not washable, so it is best kept to living rooms and bedrooms rather than a busy entrance or a spot by the back door. Before you choose a size, measure the floor and mark the outline with masking tape; it is the easiest way to see how much floor the rug will cover and whether the furniture legs will sit on it or around it. Leave a band of bare floor around the edges so the room keeps its shape.
