Description

The Mayfair rug in Navy is a plain shaggy rug with no pattern, so its colour and tousled pile do all the talking. The strands lie in loose, swirling drifts across the surface, and the tips catch the light with a paler blue sheen, so the navy shifts between a deep anthracite in the shadows and a brighter blue where the light falls. The pile runs right to the edges, giving a soft, fluffy outline.

In a living room the Mayfair brings depth and texture to a pale wooden or neutral floor, and it suits a bedroom just as well, where a shaggy rug is a cosy thing to have at the bedside. It comes in four rectangular sizes. The 60 by 120cm and 80 by 150cm sizes sit neatly beside a bed, by an armchair or in a reading corner, while the 120 by 170cm and 160 by 230cm sizes are large enough to anchor a seating area or to sit under the foot of a double bed.

A plain navy rug is an easy colour to live with: dark enough to ground a light room, and blue enough to sit happily with greys, whites, brass and warm wood. Before you choose a size, measure the space and mark it out on the floor with tape, leaving a strip of bare floor around the edge so the shaggy outline has room to show. For a seating area, choose a size that lets the front feet of the sofa and chairs rest on it.

Frequently Asked

What sizes does the Mayfair Navy rug come in?

We offer it in four rectangular sizes: 60 by 120cm, 80 by 150cm, 120 by 170cm and 160 by 230cm.

What colour is the Navy Mayfair rug?

It is a deep navy blue. In shadow it reads close to anthracite, and the paler tips of the pile bring out a lighter blue where the light catches them.

Does the Mayfair rug have a pattern?

No, it is a plain shaggy rug. The only movement comes from the tousled pile and the way the light plays across the navy strands.

Which size suits a living room?

For a seating area we would look at the 120 by 170cm or the 160 by 230cm size, ideally one that lets the front feet of your sofa and chairs rest on the rug.

Will the Mayfair rug work in a bedroom?

Yes. The 60 by 120cm or 80 by 150cm size sits nicely beside a bed, while the larger sizes can go under the foot of a double bed.
